Hi, I’m Liz!

In 2023 I started a mature-aged plumbing apprenticeship at 29 years old.

At this time, I found it extremely difficult to access information on what to expect, how to get started, and what it would be like as a woman in plumbing. I didn’t know any plumbers, let alone any other women in the job, and it was very daunting making a decision to change my whole career without much information (btw, no regrets)!

I started a women’s plumbing group in Western Australia ‘WA Plumbing Gals’ (formerly Perth Plumbing Chicks). Connecting with other women has been so empowering, and really helped me to feel more supported and confident.

I wanted to create a space where I could reach a greater number of women and girls to access information and connect with one another. I hope that I can help encourage even one girl to know that we are all strong, powerful, capable individuals…and we make great plumbers! Let’s go girls!
